Application to Join MHIAC

The Michigan Health Insurance Access Advisory Council (MHIAC) is a partnership of key stakeholders that are addressing the issue of the uninsured and the affordability of health care in the state. MHIAC is non-partisan and is independent of state government. The MHIAC Board includes representatives from large and small businesses, unions, health care providers, local Chambers of Commerce, health plans, seniors, consumers, faith-based groups and insurers. Membership is open to individuals and organizations that support and seek to further the goals of MHIAC. However, MHIAC's Board and membership are limited to those stakeholders that are not seeking, seated in or employed by public office. The nonpartisan makeup of MHAIC is critical to advancing collaborative health insurance coverage reform and building support for solutions among all political parties. The perception of anything otherwise impedes that goal.

The role of MHIAC is to provide information and insight to policymakers and other stakeholders on issues associated with assuring access to health insurance coverage for all Michigan.
